Our skid steer and our crew, hired for land work

Skid steer services put our machine and our crew to work on your land. You hire the skid steer with an operator from our crew, and we bring the attachment the job calls for. On our Bobcat skid steer, the forestry mulcher head and the heavy brush mower do the cutting. The same machine also carries a brush rake for gathering cut brush. Based in Lebanon, we take skid steer work all over the mid-Willamette Valley.

Land work rarely comes as a single task. A pasture needs brush hogging with a heavy mower, and the fence line beside it has closed in. Our skid steer can take on both in the same visit. Call or text (541) 936-4687, and the estimate is free.

What our skid steer handles on rural land

On overgrown ground, the forestry mulcher head reduces standing brush and small trees to mulch. The chips stay where they fall, which is the core of our forestry mulching service. On open fields and pasture, the heavy brush mower cuts down tall grass and heavy weeds.

The brush rake gathers cut brush into piles that stay on your property. Thick brush and undergrowth on back acreage fall under our brush clearing service.

Our skid steer also reopens overgrown farm lanes and fence lines. It spreads and grades rock you have had delivered, which can finish off regrading a gravel drive. On a homesite, it takes the brush off ahead of the build as part of clearing a building lot.

Skid steer or excavator: picking the machine for the job

A skid steer is the compact choice. It gets through tight gates and works between standing trees. That suits small and mid-size acreage, along with a mixed list of tasks on one visit.

Our excavator is the better pick for stump dig-outs and root balls. Steep banks and spots that need long reach are excavator work too. It carries a forestry mulching head and a brush rake of its own.

When a job needs both, the excavator digs and the skid steer follows to spread and level the dirt. Rough grading and dig-outs are covered under our excavation and grading work.

Planning skid steer work around wet ground and fire season

Lebanon's summers run warm and dry. On this side of the Cascades, about half the yearly rain comes from December through February. Clay sits under parts of the valley, and OSU Extension notes that clay gets sticky and heavy when wet. Soft clay can rut under a machine.

Wet months do not rule out every job. Ground that drains well can often take a machine, and we check the site before we set a date. Any digging starts with a free utility locate through Oregon 811. We plan the job around the wait, which is typically two business days after the request.

Dry summers bring fire season. On forestland, the Oregon Department of Forestry's Industrial Fire Precaution Levels typically restrict power equipment. At level III, ground-based equipment is typically held to the hours between 8 p.m. and 1 p.m. Level IV shuts all operations down, and we schedule the work around those limits.

How We Work

How a Job With Willamette Valley Land Clearing Runs

From the first call or text to the final look at the cleared ground, here is how it goes.

1

Call or text us

Tell us where the property is and what you want cleared. Rough acreage and a couple of photos give us a good start.

2

Site visit and free estimate

We come out, look over the ground and talk through the scope with you. Then you get a free estimate for that scope of work.

3

Plan and timing

Before the machines move, we sort out access and timing. Oregon law typically calls for an 811 utility locate ahead of ground-disturbing work. In summer, Oregon Department of Forestry fire season rules can limit power equipment hours. We plan the job around whatever applies to your property.

4

The machine work

The mulcher head grinds brush and small trees into chips in place. The brush rake pulls stumps and root balls where the ground has to come clean.

5

Cleanup and final look

We spread the chips out and smooth the cleared ground where it needs it. Then we go over the finished work with you before we load up.

FAQ

Skid Steer Services Questions, Answered

Common questions about skid steer services across the mid-Willamette Valley. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.

Call (541) 936-4687

Should I just rent a skid steer?
Renting can work for a small, open patch on dry ground if you have run a skid steer before. For mulching, a national cost guide says DIY jobs tend to run long, and a mistake can mean costly repairs. When you hire us, the skid steer comes with an operator from our crew. We compare the two in our guide to renting a forestry mulcher versus hiring a pro.
What happens to the brush when you are done?
It depends on the attachment. The forestry mulcher head leaves the brush as chips spread over the ground where it stood. The brush rake gathers cut material into piles on your property. Those piles stay with you, and hauling or burning them is outside our work.
Can you do several jobs in one visit?
Yes. Our skid steer can mow a field, then mulch the brush along its edge on the same trip. When part of the job needs digging, the excavator can come too. Tell us the whole list when you call, and we will build the visit around it.
How is skid steer work priced?
Every job gets a free estimate. The price depends on the size of the area and how thick the growth is. Slope and access matter too, and so does the number of tasks on the list. Call or text (541) 936-4687 to set one up.
What skid steer jobs do you not take on?
We keep our skid steer on land and brush work. Hauling, dump runs and snow removal go to other contractors. So do utility or septic trenches, post holes, concrete, landscaping and sod. We do not supply rock or other material, and tree work goes to a tree service.
